2013 Frederick Festival of the Arts

This weekend marked the 20th annual Frederick Festival of the Arts along the Carrol Creek Park. From sculptors to painters (and everything in between), 100+ fine arts vendors descended upon downtown Frederick to create one the most enjoyed arts festivals in the nation. Hood College students often note how much they appreciate being a part of the a community drenched in the arts and passionate about supporting artistic progress.

Meanwhile, over 200 letters were circulated throughout the Frederick Community this past week promoting HCSMT's June Fundraising Campaign. Community partner options were offered to local Frederick businesses featuring advertising during the 2nd Annual Gender-Bender Cabaret and within the Seussical! playbill.

Hood College Student Musical Theatre and our members take pride in our community's thriving business district and continually enjoys working with business leaders. HCSMT alumni and co-founder Ashley Birdsell participated in an internship with the Downtown Frederick Partnership during the summer of 2012 and alumni Kellie Duncan interned with the Frederick Chamber of Commerce during the spring of 2013. Members are regular customers at many of their Frederick favorites, including my own, Pizza & Pretzel Creations.
